Julefrokost on january 5th, 2006
I know the end of the month is nigh, but well at the beginning of this month we had a late (postmature ;)) Christmasparty or Julefrokost as it is called in danish. This is a danish tradition since way before Jesus was born. If I am not mistaken leftovers from a julefrokost was found in an excavation in Egypt, roasted duck, some fishfillets and strange looking meatballs were among the things found there and a hand, presumably danish, holding on to a bottle containing mysterious liquid. Well anyway we had one of those parties. I did the fundamental mistake of not letting my neighbour know about it and we held it on a thursday, which usually follows by a friday, being a working day for "normal" folks. Anyway, people came more or less at respectable hours, but Thomas and Rikki were first to arrive, which was nice.
We had food delivered from the Chef and the Virgin (Kokken og Jomfruen) and there was enough food to feed pretty much the southern hemisphere.
Drinks were drunk, songs were...well no songs were sung, but some were played on my vintage stereo, which by the way ROCKS!!! if the neighbour does not complain, which he by the way did at 10 pm. He was about as happy as a person eating a pudding finding out it was a pile of poo.
Well, at least we had fun. Many games were played some involved truth others involving hiding meatballs or testing chairs.
We went out at about 2 am in the morning (am = already morning?) and some of us stayed until 6 am.
I want to thank my classmates for a fine evening and apologize for the nervousness about the neighbour, but hey! I have to live here.
Take care,
Arnar Thor
